A dying AMS
Submitted Sep. 14, 2016
We have had IMPAK/APAK from ISSI for going on 20 years now and it served us well as we have a pretty strong IS group and ISSI allowed us complete access to all of the AMS data. We were able to build a lot of functionality to complement the modules and fill in gaps where features were not there or did not meet our needs. We would not have been searching for a new AMS if ISSI would continue support, but they have alerted us that they plan to end support sometime in the next year or two. We don't feel that moving to IMPEXIUM, the successor to IMPAK, is a good fit for us after having such complete access to data structures. We'd have to rewrite everything we have to their new API and they admit that not all data is accessible via the APIs.
