We have used ACT! for over 20 years. It is easy to use to tract membership information and can be customized by inserting your own fields. It works well with Outlook. The biggest problem with ACT! is what it doesn't do - interface with QuickBooks. As a result we must track our members in both ACT and QuickBooks. While we can track registrations in ACT! we cannot invoice for them within ACT! The software is upgraded on an annual basis but purchasing the upgrade is not mandatory. We upgrade once every 2-3 years. The software is affordable for a small association
