After three years using Avectra, we have decided to look for a better product that better fits our Association's growth. While we have had 3x growth since starting with Avectra, we have found it to be very inflexible and the staff is resistant to do any customization. We gave up on the billing/accounting functions the first year and maintained our previous billing platform that was primarily hands off once the customer was entered and the anniversary billing date and amount was set. Avectra required too much manual work each month to make this happen. We also ran two national conferences using Avectra and then switched to Cvent. We found it VERY complicated and time consuming to navigate, setup and manage an event. It just seemed as though the developers had no solid vision on adding new features in a way that the users could find them. It was like pulling out a desk drawer and searching for that one pen you want amongst the catchall stuff that always goes in a desk drawer. Our members never adapted to Memberfuse. They are mailing list junkies and have no use for forums. We did not like the LinkedIn look and feel of Memberfuse. When we purchased Avectra, we were looking for more of a listing type forum. All in all, we found the support staff very helpful, but the management staff was not. Avectra may be a good fit for some associations, but for ours it was not.
