Out-of-Date and Not Intuitive

Customer service with GoMembers has always been good. They've been quick to respond to our questions and requests. That being said, we've struggled to implement parts of the system. The interface is not at all intuitive. There are scroll bars that don't scroll, for instance. Our members are not at all comfortable with the flow of the registration software. They must navigate through many unnecessary screens before they can even begin to register for an event. Overall the event registration process seems woefully out-of-date. At one point we tried to use a "shopping cart" component to sell our books. While we did successfully use this component, it took us well over a year to actually set up 50 books into the system and we continued to experience odd "buggy" behavior, like addresses not printing on invoices. We have customized the system, and overall that process went smoothly; however, what we didn't realize going in was that these customizations would effect how easily the AMS could transition through an upgrade. These customizations resulted in hidden costs during the upgrade process.
