Our association has been on NimbleAMS for about a year. NimbleAMS was developed by NimbleUser, and one of the main reasons we switched our AMS software was because of the fanatical customer service of this company. I absolutely love working with these guys. NimbleAMS itself is a solidly-built system. It's built on top of Salesforce.com, so there's already a huge community of developers, users and administrators that have already done what you're wanting to do. Developing your own applications is also a breeze if you're already versed in Java or a similar language. This is a cloud-based system, so there are some governance rules that you'll have to follow, and it takes some getting used to. But, the UI is already there, so you'll only need to worry about logic. Finally, I think the biggest advantage of NimbleAMS is the cost structure. There is an annual licensing fee for the software (this also covers your Salesforce.com licensing) based on the number of users. That's your only cost, unless you have custom configurations that need to be made to your install. Also included in that licensing fee are 3 annual Salesforce.com upgrades (no testing required on your end, as the updates just show up...it's the cloud, I'm tellin' ya!) and 3 annual upgrades to the NimbleAMS application (no testing required for this one, either). One of our biggest beefs with our previous software provider had to do with the amount of money we had to spend each year on consultants to implement the upgrades. We still have consultants that we work with, but they are in a position to help us move forward rather than maintain the status quo. Overall, NimbleAMS is a great product built by a great company.
