Overall, I think iMIS is a really robust AMS. From a back-end staff use perspective, it can do a lot and allows for most of the flexibility an association needs. When implemented correctly it is a solid package. However, it really could use some assistance in the automation/enforcement of specific to an association's business rules and a better public/member front user interface. It's getting better as it moves to more web-based environment but decade-long users of iMIS will tell you that it's been a long time coming.
