The AMS landscape is evolving rapidly. With the ever-changing nature of technology, older comments can sometimes provide a skewed view to the person seeking feedback. Archived reviews are more than 60 months old, and aren't counted towards the average five star ratings or percent recommended.

Inability to defer dues could be dealbreaker

We have been using YourMembership since 2012 for our AMS and website. In general it functions fairly well as a basic database and website. We have issues with the following features. The group email functionality is too basic and does not provide us with the tools needed to effectively reach our members. Because of this we continue to pay to use another tool to email our members. It is the same with the survey/form feature. The database and query functions continue to leave us baffled. Queries of the same exact membership groups conducted as a whole group provides one number for total membership, while queries of the membership groups conducted one at a time and then tallied provides a different number. This is when the exact same criteria are used for the search. The only difference is that the all of the groups are searched one time and each groups is searched individually the second time. We cannot find a way to get a dollar amount for event registrations minus any discounts that is not done manually by taking the total amount, minus the discount amount in a separate column. It seems common sense that a registration tool would provide that and it would not have to be figured manually. And finally, and probably most importantly, we need to be able to modify our dues that portions can be deferred based on the fiscal year. So they are spread out with a portion being applied each month. The only way to make this happen is to move all of our members to a calendar year renewal process and then apply a dues rule. We do not want to move our membership to a calendar year renewal. We want to keep our membership on the anniversary date renewal that they we currently have. This is what works best for our membership and what we want to continue.
