I have been using iMIS for over a decade. In my role as Director of IT I have I have had to deal with using the front end and also supporting the back end. My experience has been with various versions of iMIS, from 17 (just desktop) to 20 (desktop/wen hybrid) to EMS (which we are in the process of deploying as of now - May 2024)
iMIS is a very feature rich product. Especially once it moved to the desktop/web hybrid model It contains all the functionality an association needs, from member engagement and tracking to retail to event management to accounting.
Using iMIS has been a positive experience for our organisation and has made things a lot more efficient compared to before. Now, all of our data - membership information, CPD, training and events - are in the one system and can easily be reviewed, analysed and retrieved. Previously we had data for different parts of the business in different places, and extracting this data was time consuming and inefficient.

IMIS is a high level SAAS licensed product that takes a dedicated administrator, training and maintenance. You will be impressed with the capabilities, and future solutions. This is not a simple out of the box solution and requires planning, implementation, onboarding. There is a wonderful international users group in addition to the excellent online video training and documentation. It's a well-run system and solution that receives regular updates and maintenance.
I was introduced to iMIS in April 2022 when I started my new job. My initial impression was that the software was good but appeared to be difficult to use and complicated.
After over a year of use, I am now a Certified iMIS Administrator and better understand the software and the possibilities!
This is a great product that is cost effective and can be customized very easily if a 3rd party product hasn't already been created.
iMIS has a lot of power and potential, covering many of our needs as a member-based NFP organisation. It is very customisable, so when set up well it can be readily customised to the needs of an organisation to integrate with their systems and workflows.
We have been using iMIS for three years. We began simply and now are starting to make the most of all the functionality that we have. It is exciting and satisfying to continually improve what we do and have the system in place that lets us do that. We can work on each of our requirements and continue to build on the data we have within a system that also is updated and improved regularly. We appreciate the flexibility within the system and the ability to create what suits us best. We keep track of our members and try to offer them the best information we can as we learn more about them.

We just upgraded to the on-premise version of the software. While the transition has been pretty good, we would like to have more guidance as it relates to maintenance and administration of the product. Users have commented that the new version flows and looks better than the desktop version.
