We went live with IMIS EMS about a couple of years ago. For the most part, it has been successful for us, but there are exceptions. The plus side is the ease of use for both the Events and RiSE platforms. The ability to manage content for our website within the platform is very helpful and edits and additions can quickly be made within the platform itself.
The downside is the communities platform. It’s very basic and there are known defects.
What I love most about iMIS is their regular updates and new features.
I highly recommend iMIS software to other associations and non-profit organizations looking for a comprehensive and flexible management solution. The software's capabilities and the efficiencies it brings to our operations make it a worthwhile investment.
Our association has been with ASI over 20 years, so we've grown with them from using iMIS Desktop to now using iMIS EMS. It has changed and evolved with the times. The product is quite expensive and personally, it can be very difficult to navigate if you're a first-time user. I do like the fact that you can manage the website through the RiSE platform, and its ease of use is a plus! I did find that there are a few EMS systems which require you to use a 3rd party to manage the website, and this can be costly especially if you're considering moving to another AMS system.
iMIS is a great tool if you're looking for a membership system and/or registration system for an event. Track member involvement, process payments and message groups based on the members selections all within one platform.
We implemented iMIS, while at the same time, changed our website face. The staff with ASI made this implementation easy. We continue to have an incredible partnership and have changed our membership processes in a very efficient way.
I have been using iMIS for over a decade. In my role as Director of IT I have I have had to deal with using the front end and also supporting the back end. My experience has been with various versions of iMIS, from 17 (just desktop) to 20 (desktop/wen hybrid) to EMS (which we are in the process of deploying as of now - May 2024)
iMIS is a very feature rich product. Especially once it moved to the desktop/web hybrid model It contains all the functionality an association needs, from member engagement and tracking to retail to event management to accounting.
Using iMIS has been a positive experience for our organisation and has made things a lot more efficient compared to before. Now, all of our data - membership information, CPD, training and events - are in the one system and can easily be reviewed, analysed and retrieved. Previously we had data for different parts of the business in different places, and extracting this data was time consuming and inefficient.

IMIS is a high level SAAS licensed product that takes a dedicated administrator, training and maintenance. You will be impressed with the capabilities, and future solutions. This is not a simple out of the box solution and requires planning, implementation, onboarding. There is a wonderful international users group in addition to the excellent online video training and documentation. It's a well-run system and solution that receives regular updates and maintenance.
